Michael Tym
Mr. Tym provides clients with strategic capital planning and assistance in executing transactions to access capital. Focus on risk assessment and education is essential to providing clients with the tools to make informed capital formation decisions. Michael Tym joined Ponder & Co. in 1997 as a senior financial analyst. In 2001 Mr. Tym was promoted to Vice President and in 2009 to Director. His responsibilities include serving all the financing needs of Ponder's clients, both governmental and not-for-profit corporations. He serves as an advocate for clients from start to finish with an emphasis on transaction management in order to meet the needs of the client. Mr. Tym has accumulated extensive experience working with hospital systems, providers of services to the developmentally disabled and HUD Section 242 & 232 transactions. He has been a speaker on public finance at seminars including the Association for Governmental Leasing & Finance, the Nebraska Educational Finance Authority, and the Idaho chapter of the HFMA. Prior to joining Ponder Mr. Tym spent 12 years in the futures trading industry, four of which were as a self-employed investment advisor managing client capital in global derivatives markets. Mr. Tym received a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Finance with an emphasis on Economics from Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. He became a Chartered Financial Analyst in August of 2002, is a member of the CFA Institute (formerly the Association of Investment Management Research) and a member of the Investment Analyst Society of Chicago.
